My role as a private counsellor is to help and support you as you explore and work through any issues that you may be finding difficult, overwhelming or perhaps even confusing. Whether you have a specific idea of what you would like to work on or whether you just want to be heard, I offer a down to earth environment that is a safe space for you to explore and work through anything you need to.
I’m very passionate about working with clients and support them when resolving issues or barriers that have caused them to feel stuck, stressed or have created problems in their lives. I offer a compassionate, non-judgmental and safe place to explore your experiences and work through issues.
I feel that everyone has an innate capacity to grow emotionally and psychologically towards the goals of self-actualisation and personal fulfilment. I draw upon different approaches to provide a more tailored service that is unique to each individual.
My approach is Humanistic Counselling, which recognises the uniqueness of every individual. Humanistic Counselling assumes that everyone has the ability to grow emotionally and psychologically and achieve personal fulfilment. As a Humanistic counsellor I am able to draw on knowledge and skills from multiple disciplines; Transactional Analysis, Gestalt and Person-Centred, rather than just focusing on one approach.
Person-Centred counselling adopts a genuine and transparent model, offering those being counselled the space to explore in their own way with acceptance.
Transactional Analysis is designed to promote personal growth and change and can help people to reach their full potential in all aspects of their lives.
Gestalt Therapy explores experiences in the here-and-now and works with the body process. Allowing people to draw on information and become more attuned to what is happening for them in a holistic way.
I treat every client as an individual and draw upon these various approaches to offer all of my clients therapy that is unique, attentive and personal to them.
I am a fully qualified BSc (Hons) in Humanistic Counsellor Middlesex University and have a Diploma in Humanistic Counselling from Metanoia Institute.
I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and follow their Ethical Framework for Good Practice. I also co-tutor a foundation Counselling Course, run women’s mental health group and volunteer at a charitable counselling practice. I also have an enhanced DBS certificate.
